Enrolment Procedures

Taking account of the provision of the Education (Scotland) Act 1981, the Education Committee of Glasgow City Council has agreed that parent/carers of primary schools will register all children resident within the catchment area of the school, who will attain the age of five years old, on or before, the last day of February of the succeeding year. Enrolment for this session will be 9th-13th January 2016.

Registration of children will take place in November and January, and parents are asked to bring with them the child’s birth and baptismal certificates.  Prior notification of registration will be given in

·             the press

·             all locals nurseries

·             the Church of the Immaculate Conception

·             Newsletter issued by the school.

Any parent/guardian of a child from out with the catchment area may enrol their child at St. Mary’s, after completion of a Placing Request Form.  These forms are available from the child's local school, and should be returned to the School Business Manager located at St. Roch’s Secondary school. Parents are very welcome to make an appointment to visit and look around, if they are considering enrolling their child in St Mary’s Primary School. An open afternoon is also arranged in November previous to the enrolment in January.
